A great venue. We didn't book on a Friday night but were seated straight away. Prompt drinks order and lovely outdoor seating area with wood burners (though a bit dark to read the menu). Lovely food served promptly. Sautéed game with spinach, steaks and oryx kebabs, great pasta for the kids too. Would definitely visit again if in Windhoek good value for money too. Trendy locals arrived later for cocktails so good fun.

Thank Sam I

Also known as Cafe Zoo, this place is well located in a park. I had a nice lunch here, overlooking kids playing on a Saturday afternoon. The service was attentive and the food was quite good, especially very reasonably priced. My husband had a great shrimp dish and I had a fantastic vegetarian dish with peanut butter sauce. Good food, good service -- would recommend a visit.

Excellent location. Went for a lunch on a hot summer weekend in September. The location is fantastic, lush green park, big shaddy tree for those sittin outside. Independence Avenue is clean and picturesque in itself.

Service at Zoo Park was dreadful. Only one waiter was friendly after noticing the awful attitude of her co-workers. Our drinks order was wrong, twice in a row.

However, the west African food selection was great! the food itself was amazing, I had chicken gumbo (no waiter knew the west African name for it). My friend had jollof rice and stewed beef (after being told matter-of-factly by the inept waiter that it is not eaten with certain stews). The food was exquisite and made up for the dreadful service.

The food, the serenity offered by the park, plus a leisurely stroll all Independence Avenue, make this a good place to include in one's Windhoek itinerary.

Zoo Cafe as some would call it, is situated in zoo park downtown windhoek. It has a very nice atmosphere most of the time. Nice music and a great selection of food (i found the west african selection of rice and stew dishes, as well as gari hit close to home :) )Service is definitely not the best but if you are patient the food can sometimes make up for it. Good place to sit and talk business as it's not smack in the middle of town where the noise is but windhoek. wifi password is- marmitezoo you're welcome.
