Anyone who has traveled within Ghana learns quickly that hospitality is missing in the hospitality industry, even with the big names. Not Marrets. With an honest desire to be of assistance, Marrets provides truly exceptional 24 hour service. A smiling Zak is always a phone call away.
I stayed at Marrets for a month with my family and throughout the stay, Zak anticipated our needs and provided for them even before we asked. Pre-arrival. There was a mix-up with our dates so they were expecting us earlier. After a couple of hours when we did not show up, we got a polite call from them offering to assist us to get to the place/pick us up.
During our stay, Marrets made sure that we had uninterrupted electricity (back-up generator) and water (on-site storage) at a time when the government service was unreliable. We had complimentary Internet service and they offered free housekeeping.
The location connects easily to the rest of Accra by commercial or private transport.
I do not give Marrets 5stars because it has variable standards. Parts of the house look a little tired and could use some upgrading. And adjacent to the house is a disused hotel whose conference halls are occupied by various churches that try to drown one another out every evening (and sometimes morning) with unbearable noise.
Yet, I will return to Marrets anytime I am in Ghana because it offsets these issues with great service.
