Met a friend here for brunch a couple weeks ago--aesthetic and menu are very reminiscient of something you'd find on the West Coast in the US. Clean, modern, elegant, and tasty mains and pastries. The house in which the restaurant is located also provides a nice ambiance. On the pricier side for Addis, but the food was excellent.

Great Food ,you can tell the food is cooked with passion, Good Service. The simplicity of the restaurant creates that calm and relaxing environment. Great for brunch and lunch. The food takes a little longer to be served but other wise the service is nice.Overall great place to dine.

The food is exceptional, the ambiance is great and the service is okay. It gets really popular so be sure to book by telephone. Also it is not open on Tuesdays and one has to park on the road. I've enjoyed their Sunday brunches and their dinners. It's a bit on the expensive side for Addis but, worth it for the odd treat.

Five Loaves just landed a spot as one our top three favorite restaurants in Addis. We arrived at 2PM on a Saturday, hoping the lunch crowd would be making its way out. It caught us by surprise when we waited 30+ minutes until we got a table. It was well worth the wait! The food was beautiful and had just the tastes we were looking for. With a menu of various meal choices, there is something for everyone. We enjoyed the cheese board for a starter, Chicken Quesadillas and the Norwegian Smoked Salmon Salad for a late lunch. My husband was practically drooling over his quesadilla saying it was one of the best he has had (and we’re from where Tex-Mex originated!). The smoked salmon salad was fresh, and a nice change up from the meals offered at most restaurants in Addis. With a airy yet cozy ambience, we were in no rush to leave. They have created a space where you can come for a drink & small bites, coffee & pastries, a casual lunch with friends, or enjoy a fancy date-night.

We will DEFINITELY be coming back, hopefully to enjoy Sunday brunch along with live jazz upstairs! Waiter tip: Reserve a table upstairs ahead of time to enjoy the best spot for live jazz during Sunday brunch.
