We had our wedding there. The staff are professional and friendly and take a personal interest from start to finish. Even our parents got a complimentary night's bed and breakfast. I would recommend this hotel without any reservations.

Room Tip: The rooms are sound proof and it is always generally quiet.

We had a business function at this hotel. The facilities we used for the function were great. The room were well ventilated and they were not stuffy as is usually with carpeted rooms.

The location of this hotel is great as it is in the CBD.

The snacks and lunch we had there were well prepared and very tasty and full of flavour.

The staff were very helpful and kind.

Would definitely recommend it to others.

Second visit and still on the northern side of the hotel, the room is wow.. look modern in every aspect, rooms are spacious, clean and the classic furniture compliments the rooms. Beds are comfortable, fresh flowers in the room, super view....

Room Tip: The northern side has a spectacular view over an eye sore part of town....view still good though

The hotel has been extensively renovated since we stayed on our honeymoon in 1999, but retains its distinctive charm. Meikles occupies a prime location in downtown Harare, which is hard to beat. Great service, from reception to restaurant. Like much of Zimbabwe now, you do pay hard USD for good service and facilities.

Room Tip: The old building has views of Africa Unity Square - ask for this view.

The Meikles is a real old fashioned, dare I say "colonial" hotel based in downtown Harare. It has good old furnishings but the rooms are newly done with good bath and shower facilities. The service is always very good and the food offerings wide enough and generally good with, again, exceptional wait staff. The pricing is pretty expensive but guess that they are just taking advantage of their being that good where they are situated.

Room Tip: The new wing is better
