In the labyrinth of medina, a small door opens to a hidden gem from historic tunisia. The best combination is to visit at 2 pm on Saturday, and enjoy the unique malouf music from 4 to 6 pm. Get indulged in history with local sweets

One of the must go to places in Tunis.
But it is only open at lunch and weekdays + Saturdays. Booking is a must. Otherwise, expect to wait. The side lobby library lounge is nice to do so.
Menu is wisely linited to a few specialties. Their special salad is a must. One of the rare places in tunis with female waitresses.

I wish they had wild fish. It seems that most fish are farmed in the sea.
The food is good, still a little bit fatty. In the center of the souk, an ancient stable I understood, offers traditional Tunisian dishes. There is no alcohol and it’s not wheelchair friendly. The owner/manager gave us hats when the sun hit our table.
They do their best you can tell.
