I stayed in room 201 which was an improvement on the previous night's stay in Casablanca on my KRAS 'Highlights of Morocco' tour, only for the simple reason that the room was in a quiet location, I had a double bed and I was able to get a good night's sleep before waking up on Christmas Day feeling refreshed and ready to eat the bland offering of breakfast that was becoming the norm on this tour.
Our bus tour arrived at the same time as another bus tour and there was absolute chaos in the small lobby during check-in, where people were smoking as Morocco doesn't have smoking bans in place. Once organised and ready for the bland offering of dinner, I took a walk outside the hotel with a friend and we realised that we weren't in the best part of the Moroccan capital city. It was a stark comparison to the splendour of the royal palace and its adjoining area which we saw earlier in the day en route from Casablanca.More
