Meknes city colour is green because its tradition is agricoltural and even today is the location for an international exhibition.
It is the small imperial city, developed on several hills. Its color is GREEN. main attractions are within old medina (old part of the city) including the main square, the Bab Monsour portal, medina, souks, mosquee and tomb of most important kings.
We visited the city with a local guide (official) speaking good italian for a cheap rates compare to Europe or US (€10 x 3h).
We went into medina and souks with good explanations, than we had before starting our trip a panoramic wiew of Meknes just to have a good undestanding of waht we gonna see in the next hours. Then we moved to see most important city access (big portals) passing over the Mellah (former judish zone), to step till a large artificial pool, which were the main source of king's horses farm. Then we saw the subway silos where the corn was stocked in the past. Finally we went to see main entrance (port) and tomb of dinasty's kings and larger mosquee in down town.
Pls have a look to some pictures we got there and have yr own idea.
