Recommended length of visit: 1-2 hours
Owner description: The world-renowned cooking workshops at La Maison Arabe are open to hotel guests and those staying elsewhere in Marrakech. At the half-day classes, one learns the secrets of Moroccan cuisine, considered the most refined on the African continent. The workshops are run by a dada (traditional Moroccan chef), a translator (French/English), and include a visit to a nearby spice market and communal bread oven. After the workshop, during which every participant has worked alongside the dada at his or her own workstation, one dines on the delicious meal that's been prepared. The cooking workshops at La Maison Arabe have been praised by the leading international travel and food press, including The New York Times Sunday Travel Section, Travel + Leisure, Condé Nast Traveler, Saveurs, and Virtuoso Life.

“Great cooking class!”
Reviewed 5 April 2012

Worth every penny. The setting is awesome, like a TV set. Food is great, you prepare several dishes, all typical from Morroco. The visit to the local bread bakery was our favorite part. We made some friends in this lovely setting while eating our meals.

“The one you must visit”
Reviewed 3 April 2012

Perfect setting, perfect drinks, best meal we had in Marrakech. Ate outside by the pool under the open sky -- seriously this is what you pictured when you thought about the "glamorous" Marrakech. Also a hotel, cooking school & spa -- I would book myself into everything they offer next time!

“A knowledgable staff, quality product/equipment and relaxed atmosphere make the culinary class a must do.”
Reviewed 3 April 2012

One of the things my husband and I love about traveling is the opportunity to taste authentic local cuisine. The cooking class at La Maison Arabe was all that we’d hoped for. Our instructor, Mohammed, began our lesson with a culinary history of the region before we began cooking, then patiently took us through the steps of making a delicious starter and tagine. He and his staff had a sense of humor, making the experience relaxed as well as informative.
With our cooking completed, we were served our meals in the lovely restaurant by an attentive waiter. It was a great afternoon and one we can highly recommend.
