The Riah is positioned just outside the souks which is great , only a short walk once you get your bearings. An oasis away from all the bustle,.Very clean and comfortable , only 5 rooms all of which are different design. The sun terrace is great after a busy day sight seeing, shopping etc. Also a great area for breakfast and a meal, both were very good.Would recommend the hammam and massages. The staff were extremely helpful and polite which really made the whole Marrakesh experience a truly memorable trip.. Nothing was too much trouble.

Would recommend both The Jardine and Latitude restaurants both of which are only 5 mins walk from Dar Elma, if you want a really lovely meal out at very good prices.
|I would have no hesitation in going back to visit should i return to Marrakesh.

The Riad itself, the attention to detail, cleanliness , comfort , really agreeable and helpful staff. Lovely solarium. To try hammam and massages.... Little "oasi " just 10minutes by walk far from famous Jamâa El Fna

We stayed for 3 nights last month. This Riad is within a very tired part of the city but when you get inside it is a retreat from the hustle and bustle in the streets. It is less than 5 minutes walk to the Souks. There are only 5 rooms, they are clean, very comfortable and each one is different. We wanted to experience the food of Marrakech so ate out in the Medina but we did have one evening meal which was super and highly recommended. The staff were very welcoming from the outset and we found Khadija, the manageress, very helpful and nothing was too much. Not even a flinch from her when we asked for breakfast on the roof terrace. We would certainly think of booking again if we return to Marrakech

Disappointed with this Riad, we paid €100 per night for 3 nights and consider this to be poor value. The room was basic, beds had cheap plastic mattress covers, the bathroom had an overpowering smell of drains and there was a lot of noise from staff. We are well travelled and not over demanding, however the basic needs of the customer were not met. The breakfast was one huge carbo load, with no protein at all (no eggs, cheese or meat) and the lunch and dinner we had were poor value. Noise and music from staff was very annoying, although music was turned off upon request, kitchen noise and talking echoed around the riad. For 2 nights the evening receptionist had the main door open talking to friends outside, he also smoked when talking to customers. Whilst accepting the traditional style of accommodation and certain limitations, the description of a 'swimming pool' is perhaps a little misleading - this is a 2x2 metre plunge pool at best and the
hamman and ''spa' area are not appealing, so unfortunately not used. Overall a disappointing stay.

Room Tip: There are only five rooms looking onto the courtyard. If you are in the least bit noise sensitive I would advise going elsewhere.

I stayed at the Dar Elma for 3 nights with my daughter Sept 14 and was not disappointed, a little peace of heaven tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the Medina. The accommodation was beautiful and very clean. It's very small and personal like staying in someone's home and you get a real feel for the culture but if you want to spend time relaxing and lie in you may prefer something larger with more amenities.

Staff were very helpful and friendly more than happy to spend time speaking to you.

Situated in the heart of the Medina is perfect I'm glad I didn't choose one of the larger hotels in the new city because you could be anywhere in the world.

Would recommend a visit to the Jardin Marjorelle Gardens in the new city, beautiful and tranquil and you can have a lovely meal in the cafe.

Taxi's - always agree a price BEFORE you get in get advice from your hotel on how much you should be expected to pay and expect to get them to come down in price.

If you want to eat out at the markets then take plastic throwaway cutlery with you as they don't wash only rinse theirs and don't use the straws again they will be just rinsed.

Lots of advice on trip advisor do your research and you'll have a great time.
