I expected more when i arrived. It is not really a romantic and beautiful riad. The construction itself has nothing exciting, rather a usual house with a patio and a rooftop. The rooms are rather dark and small. The breakfast was in the rooftop in a tent and it was relatively cold in winter time. Service was friendly, but not all were attentive. Soom opportunity for further training exist.

The only thing we appreciated, were the friendly staff. Apparently, the owners are french who own three other riads.

I really cannot recommend this place. There are plenty of beautiful riads in Marrakech which are by far a better choice.

By far too high rated in Tripadvisor. The price appeared in the lower end, however the prices of riads are anyway by far too high given the low price and salary levels in Maroc.

Expectation not met, therefore unsatisfactory rating.

Riad L, Gérant at L'Heure d'Ete, responded to this reviewResponded 20 December 2016

All the staff of the riad "L'heure d'été" thank you for your stay in our guest house.
We come to know your comment, we are sincerely sorry that the architectural style of our house did not please you, indeed there are more than 1000 riads in Marrakech and each one can find its style.
But our photos are a real reflection of our riad and its architecture, our staff is devoted and attentive to customers, and its location at 2 minutes from Jemaa El Fna is an added bonus.
We actually have 3 other riads all of very different styles, we would be delighted to make you discover during your next visit to Marrakech us home so that you can find the place that you like the most.
cordially
Stephanie

We stayed here for 4 nights. Riad is very traditional and clean. Location is a excellent. A 2 minute walk to the main square. We got a transfer from the hotel because finding it alone if your not familiar with the country can be difficult. We got a lovely welcome with some Mint tea and was provided with a map of the city. Please note there is a 1 Euro charge for the map. Room was a tad small but lovely. Shower was great. The only downside to this hotel was the breakfast. Not the best and only 1 glass of orange juice was allowed per person. Tea tasted awful and the bread was hard and cold. We ended up getting breakfast from the big square. Every restaurant provided a decent breakfast menu so not a huge issue.

The hotel had a great Jacuzzi perfect to relax after a long day of walking. Just ensure it is heated to the right temperature before you get in.

Staff were very friendly and accommodating. A great little stay would highly recommend.

We stayed in this Riad for 4 nights with my wife and daughter.  The place is absolutely beautiful with modern designs and tranditional. We had the junior suite which was very spacious (my daughter enjoyed it) and comfortable bed!. The staff are very friendly, professional and helpful. On arrival we were served morrocan tea with biscuits and shown  around Marrakech via map by Madeha which we found very useful. Breakfast is delicious and it is served on the roof top by a lovely lady who unfortunately i didnt take the name. We booked our taxi to and from the airport via the Riad which i would highly recommend.

Marrakech itself is a fascinating city with beautiful landmarks. There's a real big difference between the new and old city. The old city is unfortunately ruined by a few who are there to cheat you if you're not good at haggling. DO SOME WINDOW SHOPPING to start with so you know your prices. We did the Ourika trip which makes you appreciate natural beauty of the mountains, but not suitable for families with young children. Visited all the palaces, gardens and camel ride.

We would definitely come back to stay in Riad L'Heure D'eté and explore Morocco beyond Marrakech.

This is probably one of the best Riads in Marrakech for price, comfort and location. I have stayed here several times in the past and the standard is probably improving every time I stay here. Rooms are very pleasing, comfortable and modern with a hint of traditional decoration. Friendly staff, superb location and wonderful rooftop terrace offering a hearty traditional/French breakfast and they are now offering evening meals too which is a new service they provide. This place is easy and straightforward with the added bonus of taking credit cards which is handy unlike some of the other Riads where you can only settle in cash.
