This was our first visit to La Palmeraie, although we have been to Club Med many times. It was not our best experience, but overall was enjoyable. The room was fine and reasonably spacious; bed was comfortable and sufficient hanging and shelf space. The activities on offer, as always, were excellent. We played tennis, golf, did some fitness classes, swam in the pools - quiet pool very nice and peaceful, but small - water in mid October extremely cold!; large pool very noisy, but fine if you don't mind. One really annoying aspect was that most of the tennis courts were booked out for the whole week for a private event/competition, leaving just 2 courts for everyone else. There was no warning or notification of this - shame on you, Club Med! The GOs were very apologetic, it was nothing to do with them. Golf pros were lovely too and very helpful. You could also do archery, circus skills and ride bikes. Another shame was that my husband and I got quite unwell after only 2 days, with some sort of stomach bug (could only have been caught from the Club Med food or drink). This left us almost unable to eat or drink any of the tempting things on offer until our last day. We found the food otherwise quite good, but not the best. We ate one night in the speciality restaurant and had a very nice meal with delicious food. Bar service as ever was slow and not always very friendly. Bar snacks rather unimaginative, but many other snacks provided at many other times, so overall food was good. Freshly squeezed orange juice for breakfast was lovely. Evening shows are quite hit and miss, but the GOs do work so hard at them. I agree with the annoyance of Nathalie C at being dumped at the airport hours before the flight was ready. The airport is only a 20 min ride from the Club, and we left at 1530 for a 1930 flight. Our check in desk was also not open, and although we protested very vigorously, the staff were adamant that we needed to be there and that the airline had demanded it (lies we thought, and so it transpired). We could see why this happened, as a large of group of several coaches and mini buses all left at 3.30 pm (with various flight times), and this meant that Club Med could get rid of all of us at the same time - it did mean a poor end to an enjoyable stay.

Room Tip: First floor better as on ground floor bedroom doors open directly into grounds

Great Weekend
Spent 4 days in September
Good food, good atmosphere, plenty to do
Spa, horse riding, shows, disco, lots of restaurants or you could go into town
I enjoyed it, but 4 days was just about right for me

Not really a bad club, but very tailored to a certain clientele. Sports activities are primarily golf and tennis. Clientele was mainly retired French couples.
Buffet restaurant was OK, specialty restaurant was not - very ordinary Moroccan food, not particularly good and service was poor.
Shows were good. Gym is OK and pool also.
GOs unexceptional, except Boris who has unending energy and worked really hard at making activities as interesting and entertaining as he could.
Bar service was awful. Inefficient and inattentive, no sense of urgency when faced with many customers, slow, verging on the lazy. Clearly French educated.
Not anywhere near the quality of Bintan and several other clubs we have visited. And very far from the service standards of Asian clubs.
Won't be going back.

For the second year in a row, we came to Club Med Marrakech for golfing and relaxing and had the most amazing stay. We stayed 10 days this time around, because last year we realised that one week is simply not enough to enjoy this club to the fullest if you are out a few times playing golf in the morning.

Chef de village: Boris was interim cdv for our stay, he did a fantastic job of it! Extra kudos for his performance in the hits spectacle, we nearly died laughing!
Most of the spectacles are lovely, but we found cabaret the weakest one.

The go's are all very friendly- you can fill your day with activities from start to finish if you feel like it! Special mention to Moustafa, the most amazing and friendly golf pro!

The restaurant is simply amazing- the quality and variety of the food never ceases to amaze me! World class! If I do have to give some points to improve: a bit more variety in appetizers during cocktail hour at the bar, and in the cheese platter would be nice...

A few points of criticism, but that absolutely do not impact of having had a fantastic holiday: the wifi is ridiculously bad and unreliable. Charging for a decent wifi connection is not of this day and age anymore, this should be an action point for the management.

Second point: We were dropped off at the airport an astonishing 3,5 hours before our flight, which we tried to change at reception, but were told this was not possible because the airline demanded this. Check in was only possible 2 hours before the flight, so as a result we were stuck waiting with our bags for over an hour staring at a wall in the departures hall. The airline desk at the airport said they do not request other times than other companies, which were dropped off only 2 hours before the flight. A pity, as this made for a very bad end to a great stay!

Visited for the weekend to attend a birthday party. Had a great welcome with a cool drink provided and attentive staff.

We had interconnecting rooms which were very spacious, cool and inviting. Restaurant service was good with wide variety to choose from.
Bar at poolside somewhat crowded at times but this is to be expected, plenty of space poolside to relax.

Attended a private barbecue which was awesome, I could have the food on the menu everyday.
All in all a very nice hotel with beautiful gardens and great to just relax

Room Tip: Rooms on the ground floor offer your own private garden
