Marrakech was a different type of adventure, with a bit of a learning experience. On the streets you can feel on guard from Touts and the shop owners of the Souks.
The moment you abandon the chaotic streets outside, by way of an alley, you are transported to another place. Riad Rafaele is a beautiful, tranquil and lush hideaway. In the Riad courtyard you are met with a calming smell of incense and citrus from the orange trees that grow there. You will soon forget that outside lie the dusty Medina streets.
Riads though not hotels - they are someone's home -, has staff who are extremely attentive and professional. The love and attention the owners have used to create this authentic Moroccan experience is astounding. My only negative would be the prices of beverages within the Riad could compete with those of hotels in developed European countries. Our room was beautiful with lots of light and warmth from the heaters. It was a space you can really feel at home in.
The highlight was having breakfast every morning under the cabana in the Riad courtyard. It is an experience that can't be missed.
The Riad is very closely located to Le Jardin Secret, a wonderful restaurant I highly recommend called Kui Zin, and a short walk to the Jema AlFna and Bahia Palace . I would return to this Riad in an instant and would highly recommend it.More
