My husband and I stayed in the Almoravid Suit which is one room and an en-suite; lovely decor. The rooms are extremely comfortable and of a very high standard. The breakfasts are excellent, particularly the lemon croissants!! Grant & Michele are genuinely friendly and helpful people who are full of recommendations should you need anything. The wine in the Riad is very fairly priced compared to the restaurants in the area. The room is cleaned to a high standard every day with a turn down service at night. All the staff are so helpful and courteous; you do not want for anything. The tea and pastries served from 4pm are a nice touch. The roof top terrace is a lovely place to relax away from the madness of the Souks. If you choose to book here, you will not be disappointed. Well worth every penny spent with a plethora of personal touches that made all of the difference. Not only have we found a great base for any future visit to Marrakech, but we have met some lovely people along the way. Do not hesitate to book here!!

Room Tip: Go for rooms on the first floor as breakfast may disturb late risers.

My brother and myself invited my parents for a long weekend in Marrakech and chose this place to stay at. From the upfront assistance (restaurants etc.) of Grant to the lovely "thank-you" mail of Michele we enjoyed a perfect stay. In between we found a beautifully decorated Riad in an excellent shape, extremely friendly, very service-oriented staff, a great breakfast, a very cool roof terrace - all that in an ideal location of let's say 10 minutes walk from THE square. Financials are handled generous incl. alcoholic drinks at a fair rate. Go there, you will never regret it but want to come back.

My husband and I were lucky enough to stay in this beautiful Riad for 5 nights in March. After three days on the move, walking into Riad Assakina was like walking into a haven. Naoual and Hicham looked after our every needs (Michelle was away for a few days). Nothing was too much trouble for them.
Michelle returned three days into our stay, and you can see why she has such great staff. She is a lovely person who makes you feel like a friend not a guest. Always happy to chat and answer any questions or queries you may have.
If you do stay make sure you have a look in her boutique upstairs some beautiful caftans and jewellery are to be found!!
We stayed in the Kiad suite which was lovely and had a great big, very comfortable bed!!
Enjoyed gin and tonics up on the terrace after a crazy day in Marrakech before heading out to one of the great recommended restaurants.
On our last night we were lucky enough to have a meal cooked for us by the chef, Meriem, and it was one of the best meals we had in Morocco. The next morning we left before breakfast so Hicham and had fixed us a breakfast picnic bag, so thoughtful.
You will not be disappointed if you stay here it really is perfect!!

Hats off to Michelle and Grant. The Assakina is top rate. In a country where the service culture is so awful, it is amazing that they have managed to get such a great culture in the Riad. The staff, (Grant and Michelle included) couldn't do enough for you. Marrakech is a pretty hectic city and these guys managed to take the hassle out of our stay there.

The rooms have a couple of foibles (i agree with the reviewer that says that lamps are too big for the side tables and they could do with labelling the shower gel), but they are more than offset by the gorgeous decoration and thoughtful touches.

Not the cheapest place in the World, but would highly recommend.

I have no reservations in recommending Riad Assakina. As many other reviews stated, it is absolutely beautiful. The attention to detail in design and comfort is unbelievable. We felt so taken care of by Michelle, Grant and the rest of the staff. The food was incredible - fresh and deliciously prepared, and the pastries at breakfast were truly amazing as was the french toast! We had an excellent lunch one day as well. The guidebook that is provided in the room is full of excellent information, and Michelle's help with getting around was invaluable. They made appointments for us with a gorgeous nearby hammam and all of our dinner reservations. The roof top deck is gorgeous and relaxing, and the entire riad has a peaceful and luxurious feel. I didn't want to leave and I was so happy to get there after exploring the chaotic (but fun) streets of the city. The riad is also in a perfect location for sightseeing and shopping. Michelle and Grant truly care about the riad, their staff and maximizing the experience of their guests. They made our stay very special. Michelle's clothing, jewelry and houseware designs are also for sale in the riad's boutique, and she is truly talented. Local artisans are employed to execute her designs, and I bought some items which are beautiful, unique and of excellent quality. We cannot recommend this riad enough, you will be happy if you choose to stay here!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Merenid suite and loved it, I got to see the Almoravid suite and it is also gorgeous and I will try that one for my next visit! They are both on the second floor.
