Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights at the start of a weeks holiday in Morocco, the staff couldn't have been more attentive from the moment we arrived. Especially Rachid, the waiter in the restaurant, he was fantastic and always smiling. The food served was cooked beautifully, we ate here most nights, often I had eaten too much for lunch and so had the salad buffet as a meal, however sampled some of my families meals! They had a mixture of traditional Moroccan food and more western meals, perfect for all. Breakfast buffet was brilliant, great variety and well stocked! Rooms were comfortable, it's only a shame we didn't have rooms over looking the garden which was lovely, didn't feel like you were in a city. Perfect place to stay if you are getting trains and a half hour stroll from the old town. We walked back at 6pm via the back of the kings palace and saw storks coming back from the rivers to their nests, I was incredible to watch! Would definitely stay here again!

Arriving by train from Marrakech staying here for one night to catch our flight back, this was an excellent choice. No hassle with pushy hustlers, you walk to the hotel from the main gate of the train station and the next day the hotel reception arranges your taxi to the airport. Acceptable, free wifi, swimming pool in a spacious garden and you can eat outside on the terrace if weather allows. Else it is advisable to eat elsewhere because the restaurant inside is a hollow, unpleasant canteen notwithstanding the correct and friendly service. (the highly rated 'Les Jardins de Sheherazade is close en taking a red cab you could rech it for not more than 20 dirham).

The room was comfortable and always clean. The majority of the staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming.

The location is a long way from any of the major attractions and the hotel did not provide much in the way of information for tourists.

The big winner for me was the pool which is is very clean and well maintained.

As other reviewers have commented, I encountered major problems with the Wifi. In this day and age, the hotel needs to take this criticism on board and hopefully rectify it. It is almost taken as a given that you will have an efficient Wifi service when you stay in any hotel around the world.

Overall, I was very satisfied. It doesn't advertise itself as a 5 star property but it is great value for money.

In this day and age, awful wifi isn't excusable. The wifi was so bad, I couldn't even send an email!!!! SHAMEFUL. The food was mediocre and the ac? Might as well have barely existed. The elevator is a lawsuit waiting to happen, literally closed right into me, void of all safety measures.

p.s. it claims to have "sound proof rooms." What a joke. Honking horns, barking dogs, slammed doors. Worst night sleep in ages.

DO NOT STAY HERE. Plenty of other affordable places!

This hotel is literally next to the main train station in Fes. You can't miss it. Walk out and turn left. It's practically attached to the station. But noise doesn't seem to be a problem.

The grounds of the hotel are beautiful and very well tended by staff. There is even a gorgeous outdoor swimming pool set inside the gardens. However, this is where the good news stops.

If you are used to a European Ibis and expect a similar standard then expect to be disappointed. The room will loo familiar, but the quality of facilities certainly isn't - even though you are paying European prices.

The room was not thoroughly cleaned. There were ants crawling on the floor. The Bathroom is a decent size, but the toiletries provided are very limited: tiny bar of soap and 2 sachets of shampoo. The sink and shower drained water very very slowly so they filled up very very quickly. There were even more ants crawling around the bathroom.

The television had dreadful reception and many channels were missing. No English language channels at all - despite the claim that BBC and CNN were provided. The wireless was pretty much unusable. Exceptionally slow speed. Couldn't even upload a photo to Facebook.

The restaurant was the biggest disappointment, however. The evening meal food was high priced, but very poor quality. The meat soup seemed to have no meat in it whatsoever. Breakfast was even worse. It's the usual buffet, but inedible. The breads were all stale. The fruit juices seemed to be watered down. And the breakfast cereal tasted like vinegar! I don't like writing bad reviews, but having used Ibis hotels all over the world I've come to expect a certain basic standard - especially at these prices - and that simple wasn't delivered.

The Medina is too far to walk. So you will have to take a taxi. FYI - taxi drivers outside the hotel will shamelessly rip you off. Demanding 60-80 dirhams for a 20 dirham ride. Be wary. And if they ask for silly prices just walk away. Another driver will eventually offer you a decent price.

Room Tip: Ask for a view of the swimming pool.
