Sofitel Agadir Royal Bay is not the most luxury hotel within Sofitel brand, instead, it really needs some improvements. I gave 4 stars for other reasons and definitely the best experience in this hotel comes from the service, cleanness and food.
We had issues with hair dryer, locker and after speaking with the customer service (Asma), all was sorted quickly.
The hotel is very old, and definitely needs some refurbishments in the rooms, but usually beach hotels are just like that. Externally it is ok. Beach and pool towels are old (but they are replacing slowly). Likewise for the robes in the room.
Service in the swimming pool is slow, so don't rush, just wait.
By the way, the water in the swimming pool is so cold that seldom there is someone in there (apart from children).
Beach service is fantastic with staff always helping guests to find an empty umbrella and chairs.
In terms of location, the hotel is far from the Marina where the best shops and restaurants are.
The restaurants in the hotel are a bit expensive, so I suggest going to the Marina.
Internet in the hotel, although reachable from almost everywhere, is poor. Forget about WhatsApp calls.
Lastly, I recommend having the breakfast included during your stay, which is really good.More
