Finally made it past the reservation monster and had a wonderful dinner. The pork chop was excellent. The fresh seafood was great. The grilled oysters almost had us ordering more. The only issue I can see to be more inclusive there needs to be some more menu items sans pork. The place was definitely lively and full of happy people.

Best place in town to take out-of-town guests or a romantic place for two. The cost is a little high to make this the go to place every weekend, but if you want to spoil yourself or only in town for a couple nights, this is the place to go. Just make sure you call ahead.

The server, wry and well-informed, told a lengthy story of how the pork chops were prepared. More than a day was involved, if memory serves. Mega-marination. I have heard such tales before and have learned to be skeptical. But the pork chop that came? Exquisite. Tender, with a full spectrum of flavors I had never before associated with this prosaic cut of meat. This was to a typical pork chop what the Appalachians are to a sand dune. And yes, the smoked gouda mac and cheese lived up to the hype. Everything did, stunning and thoroughly gratifying our party of four. Also highly recommended by a member of our party -- the wild caught shrimp and grits. And rest assured that the bartenders also know what they are doing. Reservations essential. A sublime dining experience awaits.
