I travel to Honduras almost once an year for work, and have stayed at this hotel all the times. The hotel seems to ha e improved in some quarters over the last time I was there. There were security boxes in the rooms and big clanky TVs had given place to LCDs with support to hook up my laptop.

This was a big improvement from my last stay and review of the place. The sopa de tortilla remains is still mouth watering and a must have at the hotel restaurant. The views from the room are exquisite! Big large windows give a fantastic view of the hills that surround the city. When the clouds rest on top of the peaks during early morning, it is indeed a sight to behold.

Attention to client has been and continues to be the string point of the hotel. The improvements have made it more likely that I will return.

Although probably not as upscale as some more recent additions to Tegucigalpa's hotel scene, certainly comfortable with a complete range of amenities. Many improvements since my last most recent previous stay 12 years ago. Free WiFi in all guest rooms, for example. Restaurant, pool, bar, lots of patio space. Located in a hotel district and the whole neighborhood can be noisy on a Saturday night. Staff are efficient and unfailingly accommodating and pleasant. You'd pay twice as much or more for equivalent accommodations in the States.

Room Tip: Best not to overlook pool and patio on a Saturday night.

Impossible to sleep there on a Friday or Saturday night because of loud music from in house club that you hear even on 6th floor (unfortunately my stay was several week-ends, it was not just on one instance). Wouldn't recommend this place for a business trip, as the desk is tiny and has no proper light.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room where you won't here the regaaeton on week-ends, even though I'm not sure those exist

The hotel is very old, rustic but was clean and the service was very good. They have a nice swimming pool with jacuzzi, sauna and a gym. The breakfast was nice. Room were spacious and the price was nominal. With the family one can relax.

Hotel Maya is an old faithful. i have great memories of staying here many times over the past 40 years. this visit was just as memorable. service is old school consistent and reliable. the suites are comfortable with great views. we attended an event in the ball rooms that was wonderfully decorated, food was wonderful and the music and dance floor were all well executed for the the large event which must have had 500 people.

pool is an old classic, great size, the pool area spacious with children pool, jacuzzi, good pool bar services. again, just a cosistently wonderful place.

i hv stayed at some of the other properties here which are nice, but once you are inside if you closed your eyes there is no distinct character that seperates you from any other cookie cutter hotel so often promoted as the new modern option

again, the hotel maya is just a consistent old world hotel experience not to be missed. in the heart of it all
