This may be the best boutique hotel in Copan. I have stayed here several times. Each time has been a peaceful, relaxing visit. Rooms are air conditioned, have a t.v., overhead fan, and refrigerator. They have a small restaurant with limited menu but they do have excellent breakfasts and cold drinks all day. Yat B'alam is around the corner from the central square and within two blocks of two cash machines. They take credit cards and have the best staff (say hi to Kathy for me!).

The hotel was clean and quaint with excellent service.
The staff were very friendly and gave helpful tips for things to see and do. The ladies working there only spoke Spanish but we managed.
We travelled as a family of 3 and were quite satisfied with the size of the room although the layout was not that convenient for the air con, which was placed over one bed and didn't reach across the room to the other bed. It was not that hot so we were fine but it might cause some problems for others.
The location was convenient for the pedestrian street and central park. They have great coffee and breakfast was typical but not included.

Un placer atenderlos en Plaza Yat Balam
The hotel is very small (6 rooms) and cozy. Super neat, great service, delicious breakfast, perfect location (5 min. Away from the main plaza) and has all the basics (wifi, hot water, tv, blow dryer...) We stayed for 3 nights and really didn't want to leave!
The hotel is in a phenomenal location, right in the center one block south of the main square. Lots of restaurants nearby, shopping, etc. It is also conveniently located across the street from the supermarket and there is a bank on the corner of the block with an ATM. The hotel is nicely decorated. The staff can arrange for transportation and ruin tours. WiFi worked ok, but I had a few times where the signal strength wasn't strong enough in the room and it would drop. Breakfast is not included, but is available onsite and is inexpensive (under $5 for a full breakfast). The hotel isn't large - they only have a handful of rooms, which makes for a nice personalized experience.

I have stayed at Yat B alam varias times now and have never been disapointed. Wake up in the morning and relax in the coffee shop downstairs is something I always look forward to doing. While here be sure to go to the Luna Jaguar Spa.

My husband and I spent three nights at Yat B'alam. The rooms are beautifully decorated, clean, and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Breakfast was also quite delicious! The hotel is located right in the heart of Copan, and is walking distance to the ruins (about a 15-20 min walk through the beautiful town, or a 5-minute tuk tuk ride). I actually ended up having a bad allergic reaction, and the staff went out of their way to make sure I was taken care of at the clinic down the street. They also booked us a car service back to San Pedro Sula airport. Highly recommended!
(Side review: Dr Daniel at Centro Medico Peniel took care of me, and he is by far the best doctor I've ever interacted with - and I have traveled to lots of places. Because of my very limited Spanish, we used Google Translate to communicate. He still managed to ask me all his questions and I managed to get all my questions answered. He also checked up on me twice, at no charge. In any case any of you travelers face any health issues -- head to this clinic! It's down the street from the hotel!)
