Our first trip to Guatemala and our first trip to a jungle! My husband, and our youngest (daughter age 10) were there for 6 nights while working with AsoEmpo - an organization working to improve the lives of girls in villages along the river through education. The place is beautiful with nice huts of varying sizes and great common spaces. The shared meals are wonderful and you can meet people from everywhere. The river is stunning and provides a great resource to cool off from the hot stickiness that is the jungle! Many beds have fans run by solar power (much needed) - but bring your own battery powered one if you want to be sure. The sound of the rain during a down pour, or the toads at night is mesmerizing. A great experience. While there, ask to be boated to the AsoEmpo office and see if you can find one of the ladies there to hear about the initiatives to help the girls of the area!

Room Tip: ask for a bed with a fan!

Great location great prices nice staff clean and safe the prices of the suites are amazing only 50 dollar per night for double duplex on the river with balcony. Food is great and nice to have dinners with large groups at night. Many activities outdoor nearby.wifi only 3h per day. Around 40 min on the river to the mainland

Only stopped here to transit for Belize. Hindsight should have stayed a lot longer. The food is excellent and location fabulous. Family of 4 and hired a bungalow.
Services excellent as they are able to organize direct transfer to Belize, Honduras...for an acceptable prize.

Hotel Finca Tatin has the perfect location to launch a kayaking trip to Livingston or nearby waterfalls. The tranquil jungle setting is otherwise ideal for relaxing in a hammock. Great food and friendly service.
