There are definitely parts of the hotel that need updating. Someone mentioned the poor design of the shower door in the bathroom that allows water to slip through causing a puddle; this is accurate.
Also there is air freshener in the elevators and in the hallways and it is a bit of an assault on the senses and gives me a headache.
That said, I love that there is a gym attached to this hotel and so it has the largest fitness center of any hotel I’ve ever stayed at! In addition to a huge cardio machine selection, the pool and hot tub are great, and there are even spin and yoga classes, squash and racquetball courts.
So, with a little bit of updating this hotel could be great. This seems to be the case with all the hotels I’ve stayed in in (3) Guatemala so far.More
