I have been staying at the Westin Camino Real on a monthly basis for the past year as I have to be in Guatemala City regularly for business. I chose the CR after a disappointing experience at the nearby InterContinental.
The CR is a classic deluxe hotel, with spacious rooms and excellent service. It is perfectly situated at the heart of Zona 10. The suites on the executive floor are large and airy, with a superb bathroom which includes a large shower and a large Jacuzzi bath. Yet they are remarkably affordable.
The staff is well trained and focused on the guests' well being, from the Manager to the junior staff. The room staff are always ready to do up your room on short notice, bring extra towels, or deal with some late laundry.
The CR has the excellent Giuseppi Verdi restaurant in the lobby, which has superb food and an outstanding wine list. The Cafe Vienes is also a great place for a breakfast meeting and a light snack. The other dining facilities and room service are perhaps the only areas where the menu could be strengthened...
The gym is well equipped and a great place for a workout. I have not used the pool in my dozen odd visits but it is large and sunny.and I have walked by longingly when dashing between meetings.

In summary the CR is a great hotel for those who value service, comfort, location, and a welcoming staff, all at reasonable cost. It is a well maintained gem that will especially appeal to those business and tourism travelers who do not enjoy the edgier and starker modern hotels.More
