Guatemala is a Maya paradise, Known! However after visiting the countrysides a wonderful layover is this hotel. Located in a recently man-made citadela "Paseo Cayala". The food options, some fashion and lazy strolls make this a must stop in this busy capital city.
The hotel is brand new, the social areas located on the top floor, enchant with wonderful views of the area, the bar and restaurant spaces produces a rooftop/lounge option to enjoy the volcanic and urban skyline of Guatemala city. Rooms are a bit small but quaint. The service is good and the kitchen staff was amazing, our group has several dietary needs and they where super considerarte, the chefs came out of their way, many of times to customize dishes, SUPERB WORK! The entire Cayala complex and the hotel is pet friendly and makes for a improvised dog show. During our daily strolls, our crew ended up holding an informal beauty pageant... WINNERS: A cute black lab pupp won cutest and a giant black puddle won Smartest, This guy was seen waiting patiently outside stores for his owners without batting an eye and gave my youngest a huge smouch :-)
The prices are a bit high for Guatemala, but below average for LatAm. The rooms lack a heating option and Guatemalan nights can often be cold, our room was cold, we requested extra blankets and it took care of the problem.
A VERY GOOD HIGH-END OPTION!More
