They tried to put me in one of their nicer rooms, but I rejected the first two they showed me. I was checking into the first, and a man came stumbling down the stairs with a beer bottle in his hand as I was heading up to the room. I decided not to stay next door to him. Next room, I would have been trapped in a dark room without being able to open the curtains. It was the way the room was positioned in the elbow of three halls. Everyone walking by from all directions would be looking in my window. I chose a more isolated room, peace, quiet and being able to keep my windows open being important to me. The room was quiet and I slept great! Thanks! However, the room needs freshening up (I'm still here, by the way) and the curtains were such that they don't keep outside light out very well. This is something that should be corrected when they refurbish. Also, air from the a/c blows away people on the bed!
I feel I paid too much for this room, especially since they charge for breakfast here!
Still, I think my luck was just not the best. I know it is a probably a rare occasion when people walk around so obviously drunk at 4:00 pm. at this hotel. Had I not seen him, I would have probably loved the first room they put me in. It looked clean and nice. The second room also looked very nice except for its awful location.
So, I appreciate the efforts this hotel makes to please it's guests, and I'm sure if I come back my luck will be better next time. The staff check in person was great, by the way. She helped all she could.
