This resort was exactly what we were looking for. My wife and I visited for our honeymoon - and this was Lag 1.
The food was great, drinks were great (Walter the bartender was our man!) and the activities were amazing.
We only stayed 4 days, and had 3 tours/day trips planned - to ATM Cave, Xunantunich pyramids by horseback (Elio was the best tour guide I’ve ever had) and then to Guatemala for our final tour.

We’re the type that likes to be busy as and enjoying new experiences when possible. That was accomplished during our visit.
We met a few nice couples as well during our excursions.

We had such a fun stay at Cahal Pech. Our rooms were super-spacious and comfortable. All of the staff we encountered - from front desk to concierge to restaurant to drivers - were so friendly and helpful. Lenny organized our tours for us, and they were so much fun. We did the jungle pontoon trip with Nadir, Tikal in Guatemala, the ATM tour with Basilio, and cave tubing. I would highly recommend all of them.

We had reached out to Cahal Pech when we were looking at making our travel arrangements to Belize and Guatemala. Lenny had let us know early on that he could set up all of our logistics and plans for the trip and came back with an itinerary that looked great. We were nervous going into the trip if things would work out. I cannot believe how great everything went for us. We were picked up from the airport as soon as we landed and brought to the Cahal Pech resort. The resort sits above San Ignacio and has a great view. The kids got into the pool right away. Everyone at the resort is amazing and helpful. The following day we had a tour to Xunatunich and the guide was great. We spend the 2nd half of the day exploring the Cahal Pech ruins on our own and right around the corner of the resort. The following day we had an all day tour to Caracol and Rio on Pools. The road to Caracol is a bit rough and i was glad that i was not driving. Great day was had by all. The next day we were going to Tikal and had to be transferred at the border. Very confusing at the border and i was glad we had a guide who helped us across. The tour of Tikal was amazing and Geny the tour guide was the best and was very knowledgeable. We stayed at the Jungle lodge with howler monkeys calling out at night. We got up the next morning for a sunrise tour of Tikal and spend the rest of the day exploring Tikal on our own. Tikal is one of the greatest locations we have ever been to. The ruins, the jungle, and the wildlife were outstanding. The next day Geny took us to Yaxha in Guatemala and we went to the top of the temple and both Howler monkeys and spider monkeys were playing in the trees. Geny transferred us past across the border to Belize and we stayed at Cahal Pech again. The following morning we went ziplining and was transferred to the water taxi to go to Ambergris Caye and stayed at Ramon's. Ramon's is another perfect resort where you have a great location and the people are wonderful. We went snorkeling at Hol Chan and Shark Ray alley and had a great time. Cahal Pech arranged our flight from San Pedro back to Belize City for our transport home. I can't believe how well everything went on our trip. Cahal Pech really put together a great itinerary and arranged everything perfectly. I would recommend them to anyone. If we go back to Belize and Guatemala I would use them to arrange everything. Thanks for the memories.

This place is great! We had a standard room on the third floor with a balcony and sweeping views of the resort below, the town and the surrounding hills. Easy to walk downtown and taxi back later. The customer service was stellar. Great cocktails, excellent at planning local excursions. Really good breakfasts. We thought dinner was just ok. And our room had a bit of a musty smell. I would for sure stay here again though for the view and the pool. Three pools! We also loved watching toucans right from the restaurant there.

There is a carnival right down the hill the week of Christmas. Rave, thump, thump music till all hours. No sleep to be had. The carnival is empty and just scary unsafe rides....so not even worth the noise.
