We stayed in the garden view 1 bedroom for two weeks in February. I don't think there is bad room on the resort. My wife and I have stayed at this resort on and off 4 times and generally don't like to review a place more then once but this place is an exception.

The exceptional staff here start before you arrive by taking caring every need by , making local air reservations arrival to departure ,in our case Tropic Air to paying for the ride from the San Pedro Airport (to and from). If you want anything such as beer or food it will be there in your room when you arrive. You can rent a golf kart from Cart Belize which is a sister company and they will give you a 10% discount because you are staying at Xanadu. You are very close to everything and don't need a cart as many restaurants will pick you up , just ask at the front desk and they will reserve for you.

Please note that if you have any concerns please address them and they will be addressed matter how big or small, my wife glasses needed to have the a tiny screw put in as it fell out and when she asked at the front desk for a local eye glasses shop Peter the manager said I can fix that and did so in a few minutes. Ingrid does does an amazing job in the office to help you in your Xanadu bookings.
The front desk staff are excellent will meet your every need ,Jamil and Melanie are able to suggest what activities and arrange for a pickup on the dock make suggestions based on your needs..
From the moment you arrive to giving you a welcome drink and bringing you to your room .

The room are very well provided for with a modern kitchen to everything you need for meals. A short walk will bring you to a well stocked store for every need and across the street is a very good place for breakfast The Baker now open on Sundays. If you would rather eat out you will find plenty of local restaurants .

The resort does not have a restaurant on site but this is not a problem and has a great bar and excellent barman Alberto who makes the best Pina colada I have ever had.

All the staff are very positive and like their positions . You will see they have pride in their work and this is one of the many reasons we return .The grounds are very well kept keeping the natural flora .They have a new hot tub that looks out on the ocean and reef. The pool is beautiful and generally is very quiet with very nice seating all around it. You can use the bikes or can bike to town or walk/ride on the beach to get there.

You always feel safe in San Pedro and the place is always busy at night if you want to drive into town. English is the language in Belize and we alway carry cash Us Dollars for some restaurants but for the most apart credit cards are widely used. The resort provides you with a local cell phone with a credit that we found helpful .

Room tip: any room will be good based on your individual preferences and needs as a couple we liked the one bedroom.

We spent three nights in the resort - gorgeous position right on the beach. No catering but good quality kitchen area in our apartment and food shop very close. Good pool bar - could have stayed open later (closed at 7.30pm). Pool lovely but a little small. Outstanding support from staff to find activities that suited us. We did two days snorkelling (picked up at the end of the jetty!), one day used free bikes to ride into town. Some good restaurants locally but Robin's Kitchen is a must!

We have visited Xanadu probably 13 times now and have another trip planned in two weeks, we just can’t get enough. We love all the new additions that Xanadu has been adding (the hot tub, the bar and so on). But the staff is what keeps us coming back. From the minute you walk in the front door you are treated like family. They are so wonderful at making sure all your needs are met and that you have a wonderful time while on the island. The rooms are very well appointed, you really don’t need to worry about anything aside from grabbing some food and drink up the street to have on hand.

There is a wonderful bakery around the corner for breakfast and across the street from that is another great place to grab food. A grocery store is also very close for stocking up your fridge for the week.

I can’t name individually the staff because I’m sure I will forget someone and I would hate to do that. Just know they are ALL amazing.

Room tip: If you have trouble with stairs, ask for ground level

If you are wondering where to stay. Stop right here, you won’t find anything better. We spent the first part of our trip here and the second part at X’Tan Ha. This was by far the better place. If you are worried about having food close by there are several places NEXT DOOR and a full grocery store across the street. Food
& drinks are much less expensive at this end of the island and you are a close (15 min) walk to town. Jamil, Melanie and Alberto were the best staff I have ever worked with in my 10 years of travel. Love this place.
