We just came back from two nights at the Candy Cane Inn. While it is a nice place, advertising it as a “luxury boutique hotel” is not accurate – it is an older u-shaped motel court that has been remodeled but is still a motel. We reserved a premium room, which was nicely decorated, but its one window looked out on the parking lot and it was very, very small for two adults and a teenager. I don’t think it was worth the extra money. The mattress was lumpy and you could feel the coils – my husband could not get comfortable and tossed and turned all night.
One advantage of the premium rooms though is a 2 pm checkout time, which allowed us to go to Disneyland on the final morning of our stay and return around 1 pm to check out and get to the airport without having to move our car. Another plus was the excellent bus service to and from the park. Even though it is within walking distance, it was very nice to take the bus at the end of the day. The drivers were prompt and courteous. It was quiet there at night and the staff was very accommodating. Their website, however, is definitely misleading regarding the boutique hotel description!
