Let's face it. Carne asada fries are awesome. And this Pepe's location is top notch when it comes to carne asada fries, enough for me to make the drive over.
The thing that makes their's exceptional is the carne asada itself. Too many other mexican eateries just throw the meat on the flat top, but at Pepe's you can tell that the meat is marinated and well seasoned. The refried beans are fantastic as well, and almost tasty (not texture) gravy-like, making this almost like a poutine.
Since I have to make an albeit short trip to this particular location, I can attest to the fact that it still tastes incredibly fresh even 20 minutes later. At other places, they'd normally turn to mush.
