Sometimes all you want is a good sandwich, a drink and friendly service. Penn Quarter delivers just that! I had the 'chicken' cheese steak, grilled chicken with peppers, onions and cheese on a roll. It was excellent. Perfect size and came out piping hot. Good service, nice atmosphere (can sit inside or out), we sat at the small bar.

Great restaurants with a high density, lots of people and places to visit. Lots of people. Tourists and regulars, lots of hubbub. Good shopping. Good eating. Nice place to hang.

This is the part of DC you see in TV and movies--between the Capitol and the White House. I love walking down America's main street! There are some great sites and restaurants here, too, so enjoy it and take your time, stop for coffee or a meal!

It is the main route for Presidential Inaugural Parades. It links the White House to the Capital. You will notice since 9/11 Pennsylvania Avenue is now blocked of at the White House

Informally designated Penn Quarter, this is actually a small arena filled with restaurants and shops situated about half-way between the White House and Capitol Hill on Pennsylvania Avenue. The Navy Memorial anchors the north side of the street with the Archives on the south side. The stairs and escalators from the Archives Metro stop feed up into the area. Some excellent restaurants to be found here right on Pennsylvania Avenue and further north on 6th and 7th Streets. A refreshing place to sit, watch people and enjoy a cup of coffee throughout the day and into the early evening. In close proximity to a number of hotels so a good destination for an after-dinner stroll.
