Description: We source the finest, sustainable & local ingredients to create handcrafted food & beverages. Our setting is unmatched and the best casual, neighborhood dining in the West End. The bar is ornately decorated with massive mirrors, large columns and a multitude of glowing candles. These, along with the open kitchen where flames leap from the grill, create a warmth and intimacy in a casual atmosphere.

Stayed in the west end for the weekend and chose Grillfish for lunch, we chose well. There is a nice outdoor setting area so take advantage of that if the weather is nice.

The food was good as my wife had the crab cake that tasted good and had large lumps of crab meat. I had the grilled salmon sandwich that had two salmon fillets cooked perfectly.

It was also national oyster day. We were offered a free oyster. The oysters were shucked properly today as a previous reviewer had an issue.

Overall a nice place to grab a bite.

Thank you for the great review! I do apologize for the oyster being shucked incorrectly. We will be addressing this further with the kitchen staff to ensure they are properly shucking the oysters.

The place is nice and the service attentive. The garlic shrimp with pepper flakes and garlic were very good, even excellent. Prices were very, very reasonable. The oysters were awful. They were warm and sloppy and I think someone opened them with a chainsaw. There may be potential here, but strike the oysters from your menu!

After reading the reviews on TripAdvisor, my husband and I made Grillfish our first dining spot while in D.C. The whole experience was fabulous. We had originally made reservations fearing a busy Saturday night but when we arrived it was still happy hour and we found two great seats at the bar. Service was friendly, prompt and helpful. We ordered oysters on the half shell ($1.00 apiece!), we shared a huge, delicious ceasar salad (homemade croutons) and we each ordered a kabob of "mixed grill" that consisted of a shrimp, a scallop, a piece of mahi-mahi, salmon and swordfish. Grilled perfectly and delicious. We finished dinner off by sharing a piece of cream brûlée cheesecake. Mmmmmm! I had a glass of white wine and a glass of red wine, my husband enjoyed a draft beer and a Manhattan. Our total bill came to about $80. Amazing price, amazing food and a fabulous atmosphere. We will definitely return!

We chose this place for a late lunch because it's clearly Seafood. The salmon was some of the best I've ever had, and the crab cake was delicious! My husband got the mixed grill and felt some of the fish was over cooked. Overall it was very good.

Our party of 10 dined at Grillfish last night and had a very enjoyable evening. We had family in DC from out of state and chose Grillfish as a meeting place. I had read reviews and was not sure this would be a good choice, but it absolutely was! We were seated and our waiters -- who were top notch, friendly and accommodating -- were there within a couple minutes. Apps were delivered within 10 minutes, main course 10 minutes after that, and dessert at the end very timely. The quality of the food was excellent -- very flavorful and tastefully presented. I had seen reviews stating it was very hot inside. We sat right in front of the kitchen, and it was warm, but not uncomfortable at all. It was a bit noisy, such that it was difficult to converse with someone at the other end of the long table, but nothing extreme. Everything was prepared as requested, and nothing had to be sent back. We had a very enjoyable experience at Grillfish and I would highly recommend it.
