The Casa de La is a small but well-designed and comfortable house, perfect for a couple or three people. It's spotlessly clean and well-equipped, and the location in Crasto, just a mile or two outside Ponte de Lima, is fairly quiet and charming. You will need a car, though. Maria, the owner, was wonderfully welcoming and kind and made every effort to give us all the information we needed. Ponte de Lima, and the Minho generally, are superb--one of the best areas of Portugal, and I know the country well, having lived there for ten years. We liked the area so much, in fact, that we bought a house in another village just outside the town. This was good value for money, and I recommend it.
This house is small but functional. Very clean and the hostess couldn't be nicer. The neighborhood is relatively quiet. Early in the morning you hear roosters crowing , but we found that to be very comforting. It's near one of the most beautiful medieval Vilas in Portugal and you'll definately fall in love with the scenery. One thing this house is lacking is air conditioning. We were there during a couple of very hot nights and it would be nice to have one. All in all, for us it was a much better alternative than a hotel. We like it.
