U Leva hotel combines the atmosphere of the historical grandness with the luxury of modern accomodation: spacies and refined furnished rooms with an eye for perfection in every detail. The abundant breakfast -with even a juicer and fresh fruit-, the atmosheric restaurant with life piano playing, the staff determined to make your stay as pleasant as possible, the location on the most beautiful central place in Levoca, close to the High Tatra and several National Parcs, everything contributes to a place you surely want to come back again and again.

Hotel is right across Renaissance town hall and medieval church with splendid view of the square. You can get great meals sitting on the terrace in front of the hotel. We loved staying in this place. Highly recommended!
Staff gave us useful advice to visit near by Slovak Paradise and High Tatra Mountains.

We stayed at Hotel U Leva in Levoča Slovakia for two nights in June 2019
We stayed here because the reviews had been favourable. In reality it is a dump. The carpets in our room felt old and unclean. The room smelled musty and sour. It was unfortunate that we stayed here during two days of heat wave that struck across Europe. We had to open the windows for air ( there was no air conditioner and we checked with the front staff who told us there was no air con anywhere) and to get rid of the fetid smell in the room.
Dinner was mediocre. I suggest people go to Kupecka Basta instead where the food is very good and the wines cheap and good.

There was hardly any light in the room so it was pretty nigh impossible to read.
The staff were not particularly friendly or helpful. There was no one present at breakfast to help.
There was a pervading sense of indifference. No one seemed to care very much.
The place needs a good shakeup.

All in all it was not a great experience.

Quietly located at the central square, opposite the beautiful churches. Our family room was very spatious with an even more spatious bathroom, all well equipped and very clean. Car parking at the back, restaurant at the front, Staff always very helpful and perfect English (which is not that easy to find in Levoça).
Great starting point for Tartra mountains in the North and Slovak (walking) Paradise in the South, all within easy reach by car - stunning locations!

Room tip: Ask for a family room, not that much more expensive

Above that, the hotel is in the very center of a city with 500y of history. A highlight of European craftsmanship, Master Paul's altar in St Jacob's church, is less than a minute away. The staff is friendly, competent, speaks English fluently. What else can you expect from a hotel?
