“Wonderful place for a short stop from Sõrve säär lighthouse”
Review of Ohessaare

Ohessaare
Ranked #3 of 3 Coffee & Tea in Saaremaa
Description: Accomodation in the Windmill, Imagine waking up in a comfortable bed, where the sunbeams shines through the curtains. When you open the window, you will smile at the sun and the pleasant sea breeze will gently ruffle your hair. The surrounding nature - birds, junipers and the sea - tells you "Good morning!" Our guests have access to the whole windmill Beachcafe by the sea. There is a spacious and bright summer café next to the windmill, with a wonderful view directly to the sea. Our summer café is open from 14th of June to 22nd of August from 12:00AM to 18:00PM Exhibition of the hostess's ceramic handicrafts and, if desired, shopping

When you visit Sõrve säär lighthouse (it is a must in Saaremaa) take the smaller western shore way back to Kuressaare or Kihelkonna. Make a stop at Ohessaare windmill and summer cafe. It is a lovely romantic place where you can feel the real seaside atmosphere. In summertime you can also stay overnight in a romantic room in the windmill (need to book in before). You can also buy handmade ceramics in the cafe.

This is the ultimate 'hidden gem', perfectly set on a remote part of the island of Saarremaa. When the summer weather is good there is nowhere more charming on this unspoiled island. There is unique accomodation in the old windmill for those who wish to stay over. In the sea we saw grass snakes in pursuit of fish - a unique sight in Europe. Lovely coffee too.

By the wooden windmill you can find a small cosy cafe with not much choice, but the cheese bun and lemonade was definetly worth a stop for a snack. You have a view of the sea, so a good place to stretch after a long drive.
