The accommodation itself is within the main manor building (built in 18th century), which has a really nice ambience. The staff was excellent and really friendly. And the breakfast included everything needed for a long day in the wild (scrambled eggs, croissants, mueslis, juices, sandwiches etc).
Loona manor is located smack in the middle of nature - within a short distance you'll find fields, thick forests, a shallow river and the sea. It is also relatively isolated from the rest of civilization, making it an ideal base for birdwatching or nature in general. We spent a week around Loona hunting for Silurian fossils, and during that time we saw hundreds of cranes, deers, boars, badgers, crayfish etc...
In addition, the manor is located next to a very decent information point about the local national park, where the staff again were great. For geology fans, the manor even has a little exhibit about the fossils you can find in Saaremaa ;)
All in all, we were really happy with the place and recommend it to anyone travelling in the area, it's probably the best choice in the west of Saaremaa. We will definitely return there one day :)More
