I would say that this is the main reason to visit Narva - see the Russian and the Estonian cities meet on the river. The location amazing, the forts are super impressive, it is clean, well maintained and has incredible views that differ from each angle. Highly recommended.
Beautiful walk along the Narva River. Great views of both Narva Castle/Fortress and the Russian Fortress too. Several people were fishing and wading in the warm autumn day sun. A really nice pathway for a walk or run.
It was not easy to find, a relatively anonymous sign led us down the stairs and into a cozy room. We found a table inside, and the service was welcoming, although we "just" had a couple of glasses of beer, which gave us a pleasant surprise when it came to the price. Really only positive things to say about Karja Kelder ...
There is some magic in these Estonian river side cities - Narva river with the Russian castle on the opposite bank of the river is magnificent. I spent here several hours taking pictures and enjoying the Autumn sun and watching anglers (or fly-fishers) try their luck catching fishes on both strands of river Narva.
Narva will not win a price for its town beauty, but the promenade gives the city a new vibe. It is a very pretty area with views of the castles on both sides of the river and the bridge that connects Russia with Estonia. There are benches, fountains, statues and flowerbeds. At the end is a beach with a very modern beach house that has won an award for new architecture integrated in the landscape.
On a good weather it is a very nice walk and place to admire the other side of the river (Russia already). When you are lucky you might find a musician playing :)
