Barclay Hotel is definitely the nicest place to stay in Tartu. Have stayed at four other hotels in the city but this is my favorite. The rooms have kept their charm and are still very comfortable. Best location over all other Tartu hotels overlooking beautiful central park and university street. Always feel at ease in Tartu when staying here :) just step out and you are right in center of action. highly recommended :)
I had great stay in this hotel especially due to super-fast internet. I made internet speedtest and got download speed 85Mbps and upload speed 30 Mbps. Hotel has good central location in Tartu and the room was clean and comfortable too.

Everything is excellent in Barclay hotel with our little dog. However, this afternoon we went to hotel restaurant to eat with our mittelspitz, and the young friendly ladies said wellcome. We had ordered drinks when the young blondhaired guy came to say that unfortunately this is a family restaurant and dogs are not allowed. We were really shocked because our dog had beheaved really good. But we wont let them spoil our holiday. There are many nice dog-friendly restaurants in Tartu!

Yes, unfortunately dogs are not allowed in the restaurant. Many families with little children visit the restaurant and the noise and children's playing may upset the dogs. There has been a situation when a dog bit a child. This is the reason why dogs are not allowed. They promised to put up a note on the door so next time there will be no misunderstanding.
Nevertheless, the hotel is very pet friendly and dogs are allowed in the hotel any time!

Hotel was really vintage and old fashioned. The keychain weighted more than my purse but was a nice touch. Would have to push the lift door. Nothing automatic really.
Clean room with limited options.
Nice staff.
Breakfast was somewhat simple and lacking in options, but ok for any kind of trip.

A very good hotel in the absolute center of the city. Receptionist was professional and very helpful in fixing breakfast to those in the group without pre-paid ones. Rooms were clean and cosy. Selection at breakfast buffet a bit boring but fresh and tasty to the price of 8€. Free parking on the back yard. No budget but less than mid-range priced place. Can be recommended!
