The cathedral is now in ruins, but you can see how grand it must have been. Part of it has been reconstructed and now houses the University Library.

Great, impressive and well preserved ruins of Baltic brick gothic mediaeval cathedral. Structure is positioned on the top of the hill and overlooking Old Tartu. Gothic arches still stands high. Altar part of the basilika is reconstructed and turned into Museum of University of Tartu. With park and some other historical buildings around this place is great to wandering around.
