Leaving the old town and heading to Viru shopping center you will probably walk through this park. I found the posters of the Estonian people to be very interesting, although i do not know if they are there permanently. The park has been around for over 100 years and originally had a concert hall which burnt down and never replaced. There are plenty of benches where you can sit, lights at night and a good place for people watching. A statue of Mr. Tammsarre was erected in the middle of the park commemorating his hundredth birthday.

This small green space is right between a busy street and the Opera House. It is dominated by a rather moving monument to the 1905 revolution with a wounded man, brave woman, and clinging child. It is actually quite heroic, but our tour guide said that locals call it the “Taxi please, my husband is drunk again” memorial. There is a back entrance to Old Town just across the street from the memorial, so you can walk along Viru Valjak, visit the monument, and continue with your tour of Old Town.

Not many tourist know Tammsaare Park, although many of them walk there. Next to famous Viru Hotel and Theatre and near Old Town. Summer time they have ice cream kiosks, buskers, artists etc. Night time lots of drunks, so be careful.

Very small park near the Old Town and Viru Square. Nothing much around except the statue. If you are run out of time, just skip it.
