interesting but nothing unusual in the new convent. The ruins of the original building were obvious but we could not tour them.

2€ will gain you access to the extensive ruin that at one time housed both nuns and monks under one roof. We visited in the winter months and were the only people on site which felt strange and eerie. The information boards throughout gave a real insight to how life would have been and even though the convent is a ruin the living areas are still evident and the history easy to follow. There were gated towers and cellars that could be accessed however we chose not to given the time of day with light starting to fade. I could imagine this will be a great place to visit in the spring/summer months as the grounds are extensive and pretty.

The ruins are accessible with a €2 ticket bought from the vending machine outside. The ruins were much larger and more elaborate than I had expected. It was nice to be able to walk around everywhere and explore the site.

You could visit Kadriorg Park and the Soviet war memorial and the monument to the victims of communism on your way here, making it a good way to spend a morning or afternoon outside of the city centre.

The Pirita convent in ruins is a nice building to be visited, specially if you're willing to see more of Tallinn than just the Old Town. Beautiful construction, and the surrounding neighborhood is also worth the visit. The forest cemetery is close by, and a beautiful place to enjoy the peace of nature.

We stopped at Pirita late in the afternoon on the way to NOA Chefs Hall for dinner. The small cemetery and convent ruins are hauntingly beautiful. A little bit out of the old town but good public transport connections. I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit here but if you are nearby or have plenty of time, it is definitely worth a visit. The sunlight on the ruins late in the afternoon was especially photogenic.
