Metsakalmistu is an impressive cemetery near Pirita in Tallinn. Area is enormous, bur from the main gate you reach easily most of the celebrities. Artists, politicians, authors, sportsmen etc are all well indicated. At this oasis of tranquility generations of people become one with nature.

WHEELCHAIR ACCESS - YES
After all the song and dance over Tallinn's Bronze Soldier (Soviet Red Army) the humbleness of the representation of the 'wall of heroes' - Estonians who fought against the Red Army - is a delight.
Estonia's urban cemeteries are patches of dense woodland and in their quite calm are very much reminiscence of the natural flow of 'dust to dust - ashes to ashes'.

Although many famous Estonians have been buried there, it's still just a cemetary, in a pine forest, but still a cemetery.
