Just making the promenades around the Haapsalu Castle and going to sea front on the north of this magic city, that is, to the Africa Rand ( Beach), we got in some time, rather perchance, to this beautiful old church of Lutheran rank. The roots of this sanctuary go back to the 16th century, but still the whitewashed exterior tells us that in the meantime, occurred certain renovation. Inside, we perceived the sculpted reliefs above the 5 - metre stone altar and the carved wooden pulpit. This church, it could be said, belongs to the Estonian congregation, to the simpler people and many of such citizens have been buried under the floor and in the churchyard. Very interesting place to get acquainted in some measure with rich history of Estonian people.
Date of experience: August 2017
