“Chicest ever SLH in Eastern Europe”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 April 2012

Hotel Marrol's, Bratislava, Slovakia, chicest ever hotel we have stayed in Eastern Europe. The hotel is greatly positioned in the centre of Bratislava’s historic district. The position of the hotel is in-quiet neighborhood and the sound proofing of the rooms allows a good nights sleep. We have stayed on third floor with windows open at night. What a change it is to be greeted by a smile, glass of bubbly for each, fresh apples and biscuits on the table, attentive and very efficient staff - something we have never noticed in the East of Europe. Nothing was to much trouble for anybody - it gave us a feeling home from home. The room was great, Deluxe: we had a quality room and windows overlooking back of the hotel and the back of other buildings - this was not unattractive but was not a great view either. The bathroom was rather large in in retro style, nice tiles, ok-ish shower head, bath robs, hair dryers and brand toiletries.

The room was serviced everyday and extremely clean. The dinner in their own restaurant was truly a great experience, quality food, fantastic selection and superb service from Boris, the waiter. The breakfast buffet contained the usual large selection of international and local food but with some creative twists. I ordered a fired egg and had no idea it would show on my bill as extra the next morning, but it did. Not that it mattered, but I wish I knew about this.

Girls at the reception were fantastic, helpful and joyful with superb command of English.

Coffee and tee making facilities in the room, free internet, free parking / valet service, free laptop in the room, free mini bar with complimentary bottle of wine, beers, cokes, snacks and and juices, fresh cut flowers did really helped us to have a relaxing time.

This is exceptionally well run hotel and for a superb little town like Bratislava, it’s a simply a gem and the chicest Small Leading Hotel in Eastern Europe.

To the staff and management of the hotel, THANK YOU! x

Room Tip: Just be nice to people at the reception and it might work!v :-)

Dear guest,

Thank you for your encouraging review that will further motivate us to provide an exceptional service here at Marrol’s. We are truly delighted that our staff managed to give you the feeling of home away from home and you had a wonderful experience in our Messina restaurant. We appreciate the layout of the original Bratislava’s architecture that our hotel is partly surrounded by and therefore we could not be happier that you found the ‘chic’ interior of our hotel comfortable and relaxing, as well as the beautiful historic centre in a walking distance from the hotel. Best wishes from Bratislava and an open invitation to stay with us again soon in the future. We will be looking forward to welcoming you.

Regards,

This beautifl little small luxury hotel is really the best choice in the little town. I can only repeat, what the TA members wrote already: you will enjoy the sekt at the check in, the tasty home made cakes. The rooms are just excellent: with free mini bar, chocolates, i received also a fruit surprise and upgrade in their garden suit, which is really nice suite.
I ate several times in the hotel restuarant Messina: the garcons and service is top quality (sometimes too classy:-), great slovak and international cuisine, as their soups AND: my favorites are the desserts: chocolate parfait with SEE SALT and the Canelloni. JUST FANTABOULOS.
Come here and enjoy your stay: lets start with the great breakfast.
The hotel is situated in a little street near the historical center (about 100m). Choose higher floor and not the room at the parking garage door. (you can hear it during the night)
ONly one thing: I would offer only a bigger pillow offer.mine were too heavy.

Room Tip: higher level, not at the garage doors.

This small boutique hotel is located in the heart of Old Town Bratislava. You can walk to all the major attractions. The hotel is located off a side street and is extremely quiet. Ask for a room that does not face the small one way frontal street. The food is excellent and the service is excellent. There is a work out area and a spa. I was on business travel and my laptop stopped working. The front desk lent me a spare laptop!

When selecting the hotel to stay in Bratislava I noticed that this hotel was number one on tripadvisor and it definitely matched my expectations. The hotel is located in the center of Bratislava close to both the pedestrian streets of the old town and the new area in front of the Danube with many bars, restaurants and shopping mall. Although the main purpose of my trip was to visit the city, this is a hotel to appreciate and stay some time in the room or enjoying the breakfast slowly... All the interiors are well decorated. The room is very comfortable providing a romantic atmosphere, nevertheless, it is also calm and adequate for travelers in business. The bathroom matches the room with a bath and nice amenities. All the staff was very nice and helpful. In the evening there are usually delicious small chocolates available in the reception: good night and have a nice sleep!

Room Tip: Higher floors give more privacy

I can't recommend this hotel enough. All the staff are excellent, you must try the restaurant as the food is fantastic and very reasonably priced. Everyone speaks amazing English (not sure why i didn't think they wouldn't) and can't do enough to help.
Really - if you're going to Bratislava i wouldn't stay anywhere else.
