One of the landmarks of central Szeged, the Tisza has been going since the 19th century - then called the Grand Hotel Tisza, it was the city's first hotel recommended by my 1900 edition of Baedeker's guide to the Austro-Hungarian Empire, which described it as 'of the first class'. Exceptionally friendly service from reception, which offered us a choice of rooms, and let us see them, and made helpful suggestions for dinner. Parking and wifi. Furniture in the rooms is a bit tired, but in our 'suite' on the ground floor, the double bed was large and comfortable and the bathroom was fine. The breakfast buffet is served in a grand old dining room on the first floor. It's a pity the cafe on the ground floor facing the park opposite appears no longer to be in business.

Right in the city center, Tisza hotel is an impressive building. Not even in exterior, because there are a lot of similar buildings but interior have a lot of potential. The staff is nice and that it. The rooms can be decorated to fit the building characteristics but old carpet and undefined furniture are contrasting with the quality of building.

This is an old style large hotel in a very good central location. This is the second time I have stayed here and both times the air conditioning unit in the room was next to useless. The rooms have the outer door which opens into the corridor and an internal fire door that opens into the room. I couldn't close the fire door as they had put a coat stand by the door and the fire door hit it! Breakfast is served in a huge ornately decorated room that could be used as a ball room. It is a bit dark though. Breakfast was average, but no fruit which is unusual. Free WiFi. Plenty of parking on street outside hotel, but you have to pay between 8am and 8 pm. Hotel provide tickets. Staff are all very friendly.

I have had traveled with 3 children and 6 dogs, was very pleased with the hotel staff and the apartments that we stayed- very large and clean. I will recommend the hotel highly !
And will stay again! Perhaps , booking directly with the hotel's staff and choosing apartments was good choice.

Great location in the city center of Szeged, and Hotel is clean. But, unfortunately, all other characteristics are very poor - I never would like to stay there again.
We made the reservation through an online booking page, and in a week, we were sent an email to make some reservation payment, the half of the total amount. Then at the arriving, we should have paid the second half, in advance.
No parking possibilities ensured for Hotel Guests, corridors kept in 70's style, and furnutires, doors and windows as well.
We had two old beds pushed together instead of one double bed, which was very uncomfortable.
Bathroom is 1*1 meter, extremely small.
Our reservation confirmed we shall leave the Hotel at 12:00 on the last day, but, recepcionist called us after 10:00 AM to request us to leave the Hotel.
Summary: choose other Hotel in Szeged!

Room Tip: Try to choose other Hotel. We will do so next time.
