To all fellow travelers - Be aware that this hotel does NOT have a functioning restaurant as advertised. The Italian eatery attached to the hotel has been closed since April 2020; unfortunately a victim of the Covid virus.
There are plans to re-open in September this year, but until then, you may be stuck with the Mcdonalds across the road. Yummm...

We spent in this hotel 3 days. Unfortunately it was during the New Year ´s celebration. People were very noisy and because bad was placed close the door we heard every steps, closing the doors of other rooms and everything from the corridor... it was a bit uncomfortable... but okay, it was a special time when the people are bit drunk and they can spoil the impresion of the hotel. Room was clean and newly furnished. Bathroom was very small, the light over the wash-bowl did not work, so for women you know it can be sad situation.. the neighborhood of the hotel was hideous, ramshackle buildings, any otside seating place ... restaurant in the hotel was okay, but looked very old style. Young waitress did not speak English..Breakfast was varied. Wellness was crazy! There is one sauna on the corridor without waiting zone and shower, so after that you have to go to the room to take some shower... swiming pool and whirpool - all the time was full of people. Whirpool capacity should be four person...so there is no chance to go there with friends and spend some time there... swiming pool was bleary.... so we did not want to go to this area....I would not to use “Wellness” From my point of view I have to rate by 3***.

This was our third visit to hotel Garzon Plaza, and first disappointment. We took the suite with separate bedroom, which is very spacious. However, the bed was very small for two persons and very soft. We could not sleep almost whole night. We expected King Size bed. Instead, we had something like small Queen Size bed. In the meantime, the hotel is no more new and it is visible. In the bathroom around bathtub, there are mold stains! Not normal for such category of hotel. Obviously, lack of care. The staff at the reception is very friendly and helpful.
You should ask for a room looking on the courtyard, not on the main street. In front of the hotel is car wash and Mc Drive, both open 24 hours.

Room tip: Avoid room looking on the street. In front of the hotel is car wash and Mc Drive, both open 24 hours.

We stayed here for 2 nights whilst attending a local competition, and also stayed in other hotels in Hungary during our visit. As previous reviewers have said it is most definitely NOT a 4 star hotel but then where would you get a 4 star hotel for £60 a night? The hotel's description of itself is a joke, it is not luxury nor comfortable and the description of the pool is hilarious (it was so dirty we didn't see anyone use it). The beds are rock hard, the bedding poor quality with the pillows so thin your head went through to the mattress, the bathroom fittings are cheap (plastic shower doors) and the curtains barely cover the windows plus the air conditioning did not work. I reported this to Reception but seeing other posts it is obvious this has been ongoing for a while. We had to have our windows open each night which is not ideal for security. Both nights we were there a coach load of japanese arrived and I would suspect this is how they get most of their bookings through coaches etc. There is only one receptionist on duty at any time, I asked for some milk - No, I asked to use an iron - No but was pointed to the hotel's laundry room. We went down for breakfast at 7.30am to find the Japanese had been in before us and most of food had gone. What was left was poor quailty and for 2 days I didn't eat breakfast. Fortunately our room was at the back of the hotel so we were not affected by the noise of the McDonalds drive through or the car wash. So to summarise if you are looking for somewhere cheap for one night and the location works for you then this hotel is fine. If you are looking for the 4 star experience to visit Gyor then I would definitely go elsewhere. On a positive note we had 2 quite nice meals in the italian restaurant attached to the hotel.

Room tip: Back of the hotel to avoid the drive through.
