Very basic rooms that are small but clean. There is no elevator or staff to carry luggage. Despite proximity to local transit, the rooms are quiet.
Easy walk to fabulous local restaurants. The walls are adorned with religious memorabilia.
Nice building shame there is no A/C in the room as it was a hotbox, fairly basic amenities, with a bath and hand shower without shower curtains. Needed to have the window open but traffic was very noisy so an uncomfortable night. I noticed there was A/C units mounted on the internal roof line so someone was enjoying A/C.
We visited this hotel as part of a cycling tour. The location is excellent, right in the town centre and near the river. This is an incredible old building but it isn’t ideally suited to be a modern hotel. We had a family room which was reasonably big and comfortable but with one tiny sloped window, it felt dark and claustrophobic. In addition, lugging our cases up to the top floor was a pain as there is no lift. Aside from that, the staff were quite friendly (reception ok, breakfast good) and we had a nice enough stay
Although Hotel Klastrom does not have some of the facilities of a modern hotel, it is a comfortable place to stay. Having been a Carmalite Monastery, it retains many interesting features. The rooms were converted forty or fifty years ago and the one we stayed in lacked a decent shower over a very worn bath, with no shower curtain to stop water getting on the floor. The only facility for storage in the bathroom was a single glass shelf over the sink. However, the room was sparklingly clean and the bed was comfortable. The heavy double thickness oak doors were certainly a feature, but the room was compact.
Take a look in the old library, beautiful marquetry and wooden fretwork adorn the walls. There are photos of a Papal visit in the corridors too!
There is no restaurant, however a very adequate breakfast is served in the old refectory. A pleasant stay.
ovely staff, very friendly and helpful with restaurant recommendations, sharing info on the hotel's history and even allowing us to see the restored library. beautiful rooms and wonderful location. the shower in our room was a bit of a challenge, high pressure without a curtain meant wet everything but the bath was lovely
