Booked this place in advance. We spent nice 3,5 hours having tasting menu. Got a great bottle of white and red both from local production. Especially my white wine was excellent. Menu is innovative, not for everybody and we also found some of the dishes not to our taste. But cannot complain about quality and interesting plating. My highlight of the menu was fish soup with gyoza dumpling. Service was attentive, nothing personal just good service. Maybe one comment is finally when service asked for our opinion or how we enjoyed, we started to talk and nobody was listening. That could be improve in one or the other way. If you ask, then give us time to make compliments. If you do not care, then do not ask at all...... but anyhow, bartender at the front bar was very nice and we had pre dinner cocktail and chat about drinks. Thank you

meat was expensive and tasted very average. Desert was very poor quality. Starter with corn was eatable. service was kind but the composition of the food was strange for me. The choice of dishes was minimal as well even for a wanna be gourmet restaurant.
200€ for 2 people is a lot if you are not satisfied with the food.

Dear JoeKurta,

Thank you for your honest feedback. The most interesting part of your comment is how you mentioned that "...the food was strange for me." To question the quality of anything we do, from soup to nuts, makes this statement of yours make sense in so many ways. You don't seem to understand the experience that we give our guests on a daily basis, proving once again by mentioning our small menu. Need I go into the whole "size doesn't matter" cliché, especially when speaking about a fine ding restaurant's menu which changes several times during the year to keep our offers seasonal? I thank you for experiencing Baraka and I truly hope you get a chance to dine with us again.

Sincerely,

We had such an amazing time here. The foie gras was especially nice, but really everything was! Will definitely go back.

We came to this place following the recommendation of a good friend. What we had is was more than the expected. Service, presentation of the plates, quality of the foods, ... , IMPRESSIVE. A mix of flavours that makes you dream. We love it !!! Highly recommend.

We had the tasting menu dinner at Baraka on January 1st, and wauw what a way to start the new year!

Not only were the dishes elegantly exquisite, the service was also sublime. The sommelier perfectly explained what was behind the wine parings, and the courses came at perfectly timed intervals and all the dishes were original, and of indisputable Michelin star quality due to the beautiful plating and palatal firework of surprising and bang-on taste combinations and tantalizing textures displays.

Our personal highlights were the mackerel, the deer, the corn, and the scallops (pictured). These were all taste bombs not only bright and beautiful but also leaving a lingering light and warmth representative of the festivity of the season. No wonder Chef André Bicalho's inspiration for the winter menu was Fire, as the theme runs as a sometimes subtle sometimes blazing red line throughout the menu, alternating tones of smokiness, spice and sparkle, to a culinary conflagration which leaves you utterly satisfied.

Baraka may not be the cheapest of Fine Dining destinations in Budapest, I daresay it is one of the most spectacular ones and will worth the experience. If I were to put one fault on the night it might be just asking for a bit more (literal) light falling down towards the tables, because they are quite dimly lit and that doesn't always allow the dishes to shine in their full splendor (but that might just be my personal Instagramania-induced preference for more focus opportunities for foodporn pics :)

In summary, I highly recommend you to go gourmet-bask in the bright culinary light of beautiful Baraka!
