“This Pension is a rare jewel!”
Reviewed 13 October 2011

I felt compelled to write this review because a business such as this one should be rewarded and encouraged. So many of us have met with indifference in our travels, both from tourists and the tourism industry. As a result, when my husband and I experienced the kind of service and quality that we experienced at Villa Korall Panzio, we were at first amazed. After the initial amazement, we had an uncommonly relaxing and pleasurable holiday. We enthusiastically recommend the pension for the comfort, quiet location, excellent breakfast, and outstanding service! We have travelled extensively and we can definitely say this Pension is a jewel. It is in Buda with tram access to the Castle and to the metro for the Pest side. Our room was immaculate, spacious and comfortable: lovely balcony, great shower, and good lighting (often miserable lighting in many Pensions). The owner of the Pension is a gracious, friendly and knowledgeable man. He is very genuine and the service was perfection! He made guests feel comfortable, but was never obtrusive. He spoke to all guests in their native language, of which he is proficient in several. He gave us information about interesting events and provided a short orientation of the city with maps and transport tips. He even welcomed up with complimentary drinks. Both restaurants he recommended were great: a reasonably priced, family place near to the pension where we sat in the garden and ate a delicious meal (I can’t remember the name) and a more up-scale place on the Pest side where we had a more gourmet experience (Café Kor). To add to all of these rare qualities, the breakfasts were excellent. I am usually not a great fan of the central European breakfast, but his version was so good that I was converted. The selection was top quality and fresh: very good bread, meats, cheeses and omelettes. There was an excellent selection of teas, which is most unusual. Please be assured that the Villa Korall deserves my enthusiastic review.

A bit tricky to find as many of the streets in the neighbourhood have similar street names - make sure you program your GPS with the exact name!
What a treat to arrive at this well kept villa! The host, Robert, is also a treat, he even helped carry our suitcases in to the room.
We were in room 1 on the main floor near the entrance, but had no issues with noise of guests arriving or going to breakfast.
The room was very nice and clean. The view of the garden was relaxing.
TV has CNN - nice for a catch up on what is happening in the world.
Robert gave us suggestions on what to see and how to see the locaitons. We booked the on/off bus through him. We also purchased a single use transit ticket to get us to the metro station where we purchased our own book of single use tickets. To get from the villa to downtown we needed 2 tickets each. One for the tram and one for the metro. We found this a slightly cheaper option than a one day ticket.
Breakfast was very nice. Coffee is good, you can have your egg(s) cooked as you would like. He also offers bacon if you would like with your eggs. There is juice, milk, coffee, breads, jam, etc. Lovely.
The garden is also very nice and we sat outside in the evening playing cards and drinking wine.
Internet is fast and free.
There is a reason that this place is ranked so highly! Enjoy your stay.

We were at Robert's Korall Pension in 2010 when we visited the beautiful Budapest. Now, we returned with the opened heart for a 2 days stop in our way to Germany-Bavaria. It was just great staying here again. The same very clean villa, room, the same great breakfast, and the same even more helpful Robert. It's really a great pleasure to stay here. Just try it. You won't be dissapointed because you'll have no reason! Happy Journeys!!!!

We rode our bikes from Prague to Budapest finishing up staying at Villa Korall for 4 nights.
Robert the owner was most accommodating allowing us to ship our bicycle cases to the pension so they would be there when we arrived. The pension was immaculate with a lovely lawn at the back of the house. The room was spacious with a large bathroom. Daily towel replacement and room cleaning. The morning buffet breakfast was plentiful with made to order eggs and bacon and coffees, it was the best breakfast in the 2 weeks we spent riding. We took the 139 Bus into the city which runs about every 10 mins and takes about 15-20mins. We purchased a 7 day transit pass so we could use the buses, trams and underground trains as much as we wanted. Budapest is a sprawling city so even if you stay closer to the city you would probably want to buy a pass. Robert reserved an organised a tour through the parliament building for us which was good as all the tickets were sold out for the day when we arrived at the parliament building.
Robert is a wealth of information, speaks 4 or 5 languages fluently and most helpful with suggestions of places to visit and how to get there.
We enjoyed staying there, it was very quiet for sleeping and the whole house is non smoking.

Room Tip: You can take an airport shuttle or taxi to the pension. Public transport from the airport is possib...

Very Good place, Great Services.People are very helpful. Breakfast is very good. They make up room everyday, very clean! We stayed there during 3 nights and 4 days and had very good experience. A little bit far from downtown, but bus 139 is very frequent ,every 5-7 per min from Metro Deleti Pu.... We already miss there....
