You have to take a night boat trip on the river or walk across one of the chain bridges!

“You can't miss”
Reviewed 3 March 2012

This is the one thing you can't miss - literally, even if you are here on travel/business/holiday one way or the other, at some point you see the Danube. If you got time, I advise you to take a walk on the Buda side, between Batthyanyi ter (metro 2) and Chain Bridge or Szabadsag hid. The most beautiful time for this is dusk and after.

Be sure to take the Luganda cruise of the river. Excellent English guides for the trip. Two free glasses of wine or beer included.

“Impossible to take a bad picture”
Reviewed 28 February 2012

Little bit of sand beneath your feet, bit of wind in your hair, and a clear view of some truly beautiful scenery. How could you not love it.

“Like the Mississippi River in Minneapolis.”
Reviewed 28 February 2012

When we first saw the Danube river in Budapest, it was a sunny but cold day. It reminded me of the Mississippi River in Minneapolis during early spring because there were blocks of ice floating down the river. I'd definitely recommend taking 15-30 minutes to walk along the Danube. It's a large river and you can get great views of the other side of town.
