Owner description: Located in Old Town, this picturesque open plaza was built in 1821 and features the King Zygmunt III column in its center.

This area is part of the old town and has been rebuilt to a beautiful standard about sixty years ago . This central area has links to all the local streets, your attention is drawn to the fact you are quite high up so the view towards the football stadium is impressive, the remaining area is given over to shops and restaurants all painted in various hues. Can be very cold in winter the wind fairly whips through the place so wrap up warm.

Castle Square is a beautiful place to take photos and just enjoy the Polish culture and the amazingly rebuilt Old Town area. It’s a great reminder that even if things go through wars and are destroyed that the effort to rebuild is worth it!

It is a reconstruction, since almost everything was destroyed during the II world war. Said that, is a very well done work and looks quite idyllic.

Look around and don't forget to look up to see the most amazing column of Zygmunt. There are many bras and restaurants on the street leading from Castle Square

You cannot come to Warsaw and not explore the historic Old Town, including the picturesque Castle Square. Although it looks as though it has been there for centuries, it was virtually completely razed to the ground during WWII and subsequently, sympathetically reconstructed. Bordered by the Royal Castle and neighbouring Old Town Square with King Sigismund's column in the middle, there are plenty of restaurants and coffee shops around so you can linger for a while.

For the best view of the square climb the tower of St Anne's church.
