Stayed for 3 days at Royal Hotel in aug 2013. Room is very very run down and not clean at all. Stain everywhere on the carpet and dont even have a fan.Bed and mattress dont look clean at all. The receptionist was not as helpful and friendly as commented. Do not recommend this place at all

Room Tip: Not recommended

Excellent location half way between old town square and the jewish quarter. Good size rooms (provided you ask). Modern bathroom. Breakfasts good and hotel restaurant excellent - especially the beetroot soup!

Room Tip: Make sure you reserve a large room in the 'modern' section of the Hotel. Ours was 213

The hotel is located within walking distance from the Main Market Square and the Jewish Quarter.
Good spacious and clean room.
The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel has private parking in the courtyard behind the gates. The buffet breakfast was good and it helped her a visit the salt mines.

The location really was perfect--right next to the castle, a ten minute walk to the central square, and ten minutes in the other direction to the Jewish Quarter. Definitely ask to be on the park side. Even the hotel staff told us that it was new and much bigger and nicer. The room itself was spacious, clean, and quiet. Really great value for the money. Also attached to one of the most popular restaurants in the city--always crowded, and fairly good! Breakfast buffet had a good variety and was always nice. I would stay there again!

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the park side.

Central to many tourist attractions including Wawel Castle a few minutes walk away and the old town. Hop on bus stop outside. Room was large with entry foyer, and overlooking park. Staff helpful. I would stay there again.

Room Tip: Room overlooking park can be noisy due to restaurant below. No air conditioning, able to open windows but get invaded with insects. Internet slow and patchy.
