We had heard good things about this museum, but found it a little boring if I’m honest. I think a guide would be able to bring the exhibits to life, much the same as most places to visit in Kraków. I know that Walkable do a tour here and wish we had have gone on that. We have done other tours with them and the guides were always fabulous, very knowledgeable and friendly. Apparently entrance is free on a Tuesday so definitely try to go then if you can.

Rynek Glowny is located under the central square. The entrance is in the Sukiennice hall, just opposite the Church of Mary. In this museum you can see lots of artifacts, short movies, photos, a graveyard from the 1000th century and reconstructions of the former market stalls of Sukiennice. There's also a 6 km long multimedia exhibition, which shows you about the history of merchandise and transportation in the Krakow central square and town. Open 10AM-10PM, Sundays, closed. The allowed amount of people per day and per hour is limited, therefore it's better to buy the tickets forehand eg from the Krakow history museum's site. A museum worth seeing!

We enjoyed this exhibition. There is so much to see: actual remains of medieval roads and stalls, models, holograms, artefacts. There is also a lovely cafe.

The underground takes you back in time and down to the original foundations of Krakow. You will see original foundations of buildings and see how life was back then. We even learnt the in the 11th century left handed people were referred to as vampires. There is wheelchair access and will take around 1 hour to visit. On Tuesday admission is free and best to go then as the full admission price isn't great value for money.

Tickets have to be bought on one side of the cloth hall while the entrance is located on the other side in front of the St. Mary’s church.
I found impressive the harmonic cohabitation of the findings of the excavation with the modern museum layout. The interactivity offered through touch screens in several lenguajes and videos under titled in English let the visitor follow his own pace. There is also a small room where the kids can enjoy the visit.
